UAE becomes first country in the world to approve oral treatment for non-segmental vitiligo

The Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE) has approved a new therapeutic indication for RINVOQ (upadacitinib) to treat non-segmental vitiligo. This approval makes the UAE the first country in the world to license an oral treatment for this condition. The treatment is intended for adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older whose vitiligo requires systemic therapy through medicines that circulate in the bloodstream.
